On several occasions in the past couple of weeks Reith Riley have been working until 2 - 2.30am, Even with our windows closed the noise is annoying enough to prevent us falling asleep / staying asleep. I have read the Ada Ordinances and my interpretation is that no business can make excessive noise after 9pm, without township permission. If this is correct what can I do at a resident to get this ordinance enforced, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Andy - I believe the specific ordinance section you are referring to concerns noise from "excavation, demolition, alteration, construction or repair of any structure, or from equipment used for lawn mowing and other landscape maintenance operations."
This rule exempts noise from construction sites and from landscape maintenance activities between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
However, the itemized list of activities that are prohibited in the noise ordinance is not all inclusive. The language used states that any unreasonable noise is prohibited, "including, but not limited to the following"...
If you can identify the source of the noise, we can take steps to work with the owner to resolve the problem.
